Adventurous, wildly in love couples are my jam. On the morning of Sarah & Alan’s elopement, we were getting 70 MPH winds with rain. Now normally, even if it’s windy, I still proceed with any session I’m doing because wind does make things magical. But there is nothing magical about a small hurricane in Palo Duro Canyon, even for an adventure elopement. They are not familiar with this area as they are not from around West Texas. I called them at 5 am for them to walk outside and make the call. We decided to wait until 9:00 for the winds to calm down to do our first look inside the canyon. It was still just as magical as it would have been for a sunrise. What I loved most about Sarah & Alan’s elopement is that nothing bothered them. All they cared about was each other and making it official. They didn’t care about mother nature ruining their sunrise first look, because we still did a first look. They didn’t care that it was super cold, because they still got the most beautiful spot surrounded by their loved ones. And I mean, c’mon….. bagpipes?!! Such a perfect elopement!
