Palo Duro Canyon Adventure Sunrise Engagement Photography
We met at Palo Duro State Park at 7am to capture the sunrise in the freezing cold weather. We headed out on a hike before the sun came up, and Brit got us all set up with some headlamps and we had blankets and a thermos in hand. She made my fiance and I feel at ease and she continued to make us laugh throughout our time. It’s amazing how detailed Brit is, from the steam in the thermos, the dirt getting kicked for photos, and the timing of the sunrise, she knows that each detail serves an important part, when to do things and where at Palo Duro Canyon! I used to think that photography was about looking into the camera and being told different poses, but Brit completely made me see photography in such a new light. The whole time we took pictures, it felt like we were making fun memories that we would always remember!
Si and I met at a young adult ministry at church. He had seen me a few weeks before and apparently scouted me out until he had the guts to come say hello. He had asked someone there who I was and then had them introduce him to the group of girls I was talking with. Shortly after, he found me on Facebook and shot me a message. We began messaging, he got my number, and we continued to talk back and forth. He was leaving to go to a worship conference and I was leaving to go to Colorado on vacation. Little did I know that during this time, he told his grandma that he was going to marry me one day. On the way back from our trips, Si made the move and asked me on a date. We went to church the Sunday he came back, went to Texas Roadhouse after, got Texas Tea, and played games and talked for hours on end. After our first couple of dates, I told my sister “You are going to think I am crazy, but I think I am going to marry him someday. I think I found my person.” After 5 months of dating, Si proposed on Christmas day. This may seem fast, but I have never been surer that he is the one for me. We were building gingerbread houses for competition between my family and everyone was going to vote on the best one. After we were all done building, the vote was cast and Si and I won! My mom said that she had got a prize for the winner. She handed me the gift, and when I opened it there was a ring box. Si got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I, of course, said YES! Afterward, he played a video he made for me of our pictures from when we dated and he had all of our family members say congratulations in a video. As cliche as it is, there are many love stories but ours is my favorite!
