This sweet momma bear was down from Omaha Nebraska and wanted to do a family session while they were in town. As a mom, I know when I’m photographing children I want to do my best to actually tell the story of where they are in life at that moment. The dimples in the fingers, the playfulness of running around vs sitting and smiling at the camera. I don’t think it could have gone any more perfect. Nailed it.
Suki actually lost her mother when she was young to breast cancer (you can find her support cause here). While I was in my zone during the session, I couldn’t help but think of, “I bet she would have loved something like this with her mom.” The type of photos where you actually create memories of mom playing with babies. When Norah and Ivy come back and look at these printed photos do you know what they’re going to remember? They’ll remember mom chasing us. They’ll remember having the coolest tea party in the woods. Want to know what they probably won’t remember? Being forced to sit down and smile at the family photographer that’s making an idiot of herself to get someone to smile
